It is with much gratitude and praise to our faithful God, for all His
gracious enablement, that we publish this, the thirteenth book in the ‘Glory’
series. The book addresses a subject much in danger of neglect and, sadly, of
being dismissed as merely pertaining historically to the children of Israel,
without relevance to the present day. Regrettably, these attitudes prevail in
spite of the extensive prominence given to it in so many parts of the Word of
God. A grasp of Tabernacle truth is key to a proper understanding of large
sections of the Bible, particularly John’s Gospel and the Epistle to the
Hebrews. It is full of fitting pictorial and comprehensive presentations of the
glorious Person and work of our Lord Jesus Christ, establishes the basis on
which God dwells in the midst of His people and introduces fundamental
principles for post-redemptive godliness and gathering. “For whatsoever things
were written aforetime were written for our learning” Rom.15.4.

Once again it is appropriate and necessary to convey our sincere thanks to
each author for his contribution, so willingly and profitably provided. When
these are brought together they represent an edifying, educational and
encouraging variety of devotional, practical and challenging ministry. The
committee of ‘Assembly Testimony’¹
greatly appreciates the long hours of study and preparation sacrificially
devoted not only at much personal cost but also to loved ones, family and
friends. Ever remember that “God is not unrighteous to forget your work and
labour of love, which ye have shewed toward His name, in that ye have ministered
to the saints” Heb.6.10.

It needs to be affirmed that the authors have freedom to write their chapters
independently of each other. This offers scope for each to adopt his own style
and expression, and, while this is the case, it remains important that readers
examine the contents of this book against the teaching of the Scriptures of
Truth.

As with previous publications, this one would not be possible without the
commitment, thoroughness and dedication of all who have willingly undertaken the
essential but often unrecognised task of proof reading. Gratitude also goes to
all who have contributed to the production and distribution of this book and
other books to all parts of the world. How precious to know that “thy Father,
which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly” Matt.6.18.

In releasing this book our singular goal is that the Lord’s people will have
access to a further Scripturally based resource on the Tabernacle, and that they
will not only be instructed intellectually but stirred in fresh devotion to the
One so beautifully portrayed “in the first tabernacle … a figure [‘parable’] for
the time then present” Heb.9.8,9.
